From an idea or problem to something made for the job.
Custom made work can feel unfamiliar if you are used to buying from a catalogue. The Canvasland process is intentionally practical and straightforward.
Simple enough to begin. Detailed enough to get the job right.
Not every project follows exactly the same route, but this is the basic journey.
Show us
Send photographs, a sketch or bring the item in. Explain what you need the finished product to do.
Measure
Provide approximate or confirmed dimensions, depending on the job and stage of the enquiry.
Agree
Discuss material, construction, practical details and the quoted work before manufacture begins.
Make
The workshop makes the product to the agreed brief and arranges collection or next steps.
Start with what you know.
You may know the exact dimensions and material you want. Or you may simply know that rain gets onto the patio furniture and the current cover does not work. Both are valid starting points.

For repairs
Canvasland first needs to understand whether the existing product is suitable for repair and whether the surrounding material is sound enough to make the repair worthwhile.
For one off ideas
A sketch can help, but it does not need to be professional. Photos of similar ideas, dimensions and a description of the intended use can be enough to start the conversation.
For repeat commercial work
Once a specification has been agreed, the business can discuss how future repeat requirements should be documented and ordered.
Make the brief clear.
Dimensions
Confirm the measurements being used for manufacture.
Material
Agree the material or material type suitable for the job.
Details
Confirm openings, straps, zips, handles, fasteners or other relevant features.
Finish
Clarify colour, appearance and any practical finish requirements that matter.
